How to Get Into Rumour London (Formerly Tabu)

Getting into Rumour (formerly Tabu) depends first on who is in your group. Ladies can join the guestlist, free to £20 on the door depending on the night; men are not added to the guestlist and come in on a booth, from £1,000 minimum spend as of October 2026, which covers entry for the whole group. Everyone needs to be 18 or over with photo ID and dressed up, with heels for ladies, and Wednesday and Thursday are the easier nights.
Rumour's Door at a Glance
| Your group | Route in | Cost | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ladies | Guestlist | Free to £20 on the door | Depends on the night and how busy it is |
| Men | Booth | From £1,000 minimum spend | Covers entry for the whole group |
| Mixed group | Booth | From £1,000 minimum spend | Across eight people, roughly £125 each |
The room is one intimate space of around 200, built around booths in deep red velvet, with dark panelling, a chandelier and low, warm lighting. It fills early by design, and that shapes almost every piece of advice below.
Age and ID: 18+
Rumour is 18+, and the door asks for photo ID, so everyone in the group should carry it. That makes Rumour the easier choice for a group with an 18-year-old in it, since 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club), a short walk away, is 19+.
What to Wear
Rumour's door is smart and dressed up: heels for ladies and a considered look for men. No sportswear and no fancy dress. Trainers are at the door's discretion, which makes them a gamble rather than a plan, so smart shoes are the safer choice. Dress the whole group to the same standard, since you arrive and go in together.
The Ladies' Guestlist
The guestlist at Rumour is for ladies, with entry free to £20 on the door depending on the night and how busy the room is. Send us the names and the night, and we arrange the list before you go. Because the room fills early, an arrival close to the 11pm opening is the safest plan, above all at the weekend.
Can Guys Get Into Rumour?
Yes, on a booth booking. Men are not added to the guestlist, so a group of men, or a mixed group, comes in on a booth from £1,000 minimum spend. The minimum is spent on drinks across the night rather than paid as a door fee, and it covers entry for the whole group: across eight people, that is roughly £125 each. In a room built around its booths, the booth is also where your group sits for the night, so the booking does two jobs at once.
Which Nights Are Easier
Rumour opens Wednesday to Saturday, 11pm to 4am. Wednesday and Thursday are the more relaxed nights and the easiest for guestlist entry. Friday and Saturday fill out and are worth arranging in advance, for a booth as much as for the list.
Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday 31 October and New Year's Eve on Thursday 31 December. Rumour opens on both nights as part of its Wednesday to Saturday schedule, and booths for them should be booked early.
The No-Photography Rule
Rumour does not allow photos or video in the main room or on the dance floor, and the floor team enforces it. It is the single clearest difference between Rumour and the rooms around it, so take any pictures before you go in and keep the camera away once inside. London has a few rooms that work this way: Fabric, for one, has put stickers over clubbers' phone cameras as they come in, as Time Out has reported. For how photography works across the city's clubs, see our guide to taking photos in London nightclubs.
Finding Rumour
Rumour is at 1 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4LD, on the street that runs between Piccadilly and Grafton Street. Green Park tube station is a few minutes away, and Piccadilly Circus and Bond Street are walkable. The venue presents itself as a members' club, but you do not need to be a member: we book booths and the ladies' guestlist for non-members. Once you are in, our guide to what to expect at Rumour covers the night itself.
