Lio Mayfair, as It Was

When it was open, Lio Mayfair was a dinner-and-show venue that turned into a club late on Friday and Saturday nights, from 11:30pm to 4am. It was known for professional performers, choreographed shows and big-name DJs. Tables started from £1,500 minimum spend on the floor and £2,000 for VIP tables, the guestlist was for ladies, and the dress code was dress to impress, with heels for women and a smart shirt, trousers and dress shoes for men.

• Reign on Piccadilly is a showclub with performers through the night, playing hip-hop, R&B and commercial. Open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
• Cirque Le Soir on Ganton Street, off Carnaby Street, is built around circus-style performers and plays hip-hop and R&B. Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
• 99 Regent Street (formerly the Cuckoo Club), a short walk from Piccadilly Circus, plays hip-hop and open format upstairs and house downstairs. Open Wednesday to Saturday.
